Granite Bay, CA
This was a particularly fun project. Not only because the clients were amazing, but because this house originally was a little bit disconnected stylistically. The outside of this house is definitely be more of a French Country, while the interior was clearly Tuscan.
The kitchen had a plaster hood made to look like stone that spanned 7' over the range. There was dark green granite, heavy trimmings and painted walls made to look like heavy plaster everywhere.
One of the first orders of business was to connect the inside with the look of the outside. The cabinets were solid wood and still in amazing condition. The island had been heavily faux painted and rather than replace it, we painted it to match the new hood that was installed. All fixtures and appliances were replaced. The lighting was upgraded and light quartzite countertops were installed to brighten the entire area. All walls were painted a solid color and one of the most dramatic changes was creating a hood over the stove that matched with more of the French style to relate it to the exterior of the house.
