We had a ton of fun with this kitchen. The home was built in the early 2000's and had some design challenges throughout. The original island was angled and had a bartop- not ideal for a retirement community where mobility issues can be a factor.

For the renovation, the kitchen cabinet wall was extended into the original eating area, allowing for adjusting the island and actually expanding it to 1 level, and additionally adding an integrated table as well. On the far end of the wall a bar area with beautiful floating shelves were added. Leathered Taj Mahal quartzite and Alder cabinets bring the kitchen up to date. Easy to maintain LVP flooring replaced both tile and carpet, connecting the family room to the kitchen and warming the space up.  What a difference!
